This car was built in July 1910 as a Class M four wheel car and rebuilt as a bogie car in May 1932. The upper deck was rebuilt in October 1934 from a flat to a domed roof following a derailment whithin Streatham Depot. It derailed on the exit ramp catch point continued down the wall demolishing the top deck cover. In May 1936 the roof was completely rebuilt due to weaknesses and it was replaced by a one piece roof in plywood by the Tucker Armoured Plywood Co. with curved ends by CRD. |

I wonder what happpent to "Jacksons Noted Oyster Bar" Established 1856 - Is it stll there perhaps? - It is now part on an open air food court.

This car was built in 1932 as part of the second series and scrapped in January 1952. These cars (2nd series K's) were nicknamed Rockets as they were reputedly the quickest class in the LPTB. It retained its original Brush windscreen including the glazed stair panel at both ends. It is the subject of the Tower Trams 4mm model. |
